Thank you so much for Friday night. It was unreal being able to be apart of the crew and learn from Michael, Ken and Hugh. Getting to speak with Scott Butler as well is something I’ll never forget and I’d like to thank him for allowing me to be apart of it. I’d like to give a special thanks to Kyle as well for looking after me during the game
The experience really made me realise my dream of becoming a professional basketball official. It gave me a brilliant insight to something that I’ve grown so fond of since I picked up a whistle. Its made me want to work even harder to be my best self on and off the court. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face the whole the night

The NBL Referee Coach Mentor Program gave me a great insight into the elite performance environment that NBL referees and educators work in. The Program challenged me to think about my own processes and the conceptual model for how I coach and educate, as well as providing me with viewpoints and concepts that I can apply across the various levels that I educate at. The Program will challenge you to become a better referee coach and is definitely worth the investment of your time and resources.
Participating in the NBL Referee Coach Mentor Program has been immensely enriching experience which gave me in-depth discussion with mentors from FIBA, the NBA and NBL, focusing on referee development and personal growth.
I found the NBL mentor experience really positive and fun. Both Jacqui and James were fun to be around and talk to. The feedback they gave was helpful and insightful in what I needed to change and develop to improve my refereeing and skills I can pass on to younger referees.
the NBL mentor program was not only a rewarding experience, but also a fun one. Whilst I only received feedback for two games across the weekend, being able to receive a couple of tips from Jacqui about the small things in my refereeing style was very helpful, and eye-opening. I also think that using the ear-pieces was a fun way to get our feet in the door of slowly progressing towards more senior referees.
